According to the 2010 United States Census, only 4.6 percent of Missouri heads of household are male with no wife present.

Paul Pendino, 46, of Barnett, Mo. is a divorced father of three sons - one of them disabled, who relies on his dad for almost everything.

The boys, though, are alright.

“You can definitely tell there’s the absence of a mother figure in the house, but we bond much more right now”, says Paul II (cq), 20, the oldest of the kids.
